GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a state parks employee has been arrested after he was driving drunk in a park outside Buffalo.

Andrew Hillman was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and related offenses.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says police stopped the 40-year-old parks manager at about 1 a.m. in Beaver Island State Park in the town of Grand Island. They say he appeared to be intoxicated and had an open can of beer with him. While being put in the back of a police car, he allegedly resisted and pushed an officer.

Authorities say he failed a sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of .17 percent. That’s more than double the legal limit.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Hillman had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
