TROY, N.Y. (AP) - Funeral services will be held in upstate New York for a 29-year-old man who was killed while struggling with a police officer in Southern California earlier this month.
The Times Union of Albany reports (https://bit.ly/1PWdTGI ) that the services for Brendon Glenn will be held Wednesday at the Rensselaer (rehn-suh-LEER’) Polytechnic Cultural Center in Troy, his hometown.
Police in Los Angeles say Glenn was fatally shot after he struggled with an officer responding to a report of an unruly man outside a bar in Venice Beach. Authorities say Brendon was homeless.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck later said he worried the shooting may not have been justified.
The manager of a homeless center in Los Angeles said Glenn had been coming to the facility daily for about seven weeks before the shooting.
