RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 31-year-old Washoe County man faces up to 10 years in prison after he was convicted this week of breaking a car window and stealing wrapped Christmas presents in south Reno in December.

A Washoe District Court jury found Jose Tofolla-Flores guilty Tuesday of burglary and destruction of property.

A man who was staying with a friend while traveling from California to Wyoming called police Dec. 15 when he saw the suspect removing the family presents from the back seat through the broken window, including a guitar, a doll and a pony set.

Police located the suspect and determined the wrapping paper matched that used by the burglary victim.

Detectives later matched Tofolla-Flores’ DNA to the scene of another 2012 vehicle burglary.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced in both cases June 9.
