MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Mesa man has been arrested after marijuana was found in his car that also carried his 1-year-old child.
Mesa police say 20-year-old Devante Trevion Jones was being held on suspicion of 10 different charges including marijuana possession, endangering the life and health of a minor and possession of a deadly weapon.
Jones’ bond was set at $2,500 at his initial court appearance Wednesday. He doesn’t have a lawyer yet.
Police say Jones’ car was pulled over for a traffic violation Monday and an officer smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana.
They say nine individually packaged baggies of marijuana were found in the car along with a handgun and a box of ammunition.
Police say Jones was on probation for a felony at the time of his arrest.
