ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Sen. Barbara Mikulski and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake have met with members of President Barack Obama’s administration to discuss helping parts of Baltimore recover from damage due to unrest after the death last month of Freddie Gray.
The meeting Wednesday at the White House included Sen. Ben Cardin and Rep. Elijah Cummings. They met with Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to the president, and other administration officials.
The White House says the administration will continue to serve as an active partner in supporting local priorities following the unrest after Gray was fatally injured in police custody.
Other administration officials who participated in the meeting included Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro.
