COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - A man charged with shooting a Coeur d’Alene police officer was back in court in the northern Idaho city.

Jonathan Daniel Renfro on Wednesday received a June 5 court date in which prosecutors are expected to charge him with first degree murder in the death of police Sgt. Greg Moore on May 5.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Renfro remains jailed on $2 million bail.

He was expected to be charged with murder on Wednesday, but defense attorneys said they did not receive the proper paperwork on that motion.

Investigators allege that Renfro, who was on parole, shot the 43-year-old Moore as the officer questioned him because he feared Moore would find a handgun in his pocket - a parole violation.

Moore died later the evening of May 5.
