POWHATAN, Va. (AP) - Police say thieves have stolen 30 handguns from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Virginia.
Multiple news outlets report the break-in occurred early Monday morning at American Family Pawn & Guns in Powhatan. Authorities have offered a $6,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the intruders who broke into the business.
The stolen firearms included a variety of handguns, including a number of semi-automatic pistols. The U.S Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says the theft of the firearms may pose a risk to public safety and investigators are seeking information that would assist them in identifying those responsible for the burglary.
A detective says the robbers forced their way into the small, residential-style building through an exterior window. Authorities believe there are three suspects.
