CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Several residents jumped out of windows and firefighters rescued six others in a Chandler apartment complex after they were trapped by a fire that started in one unit blocked a stairwell.

Two people were taken to hospitals for treatment of minor smoke inhalation suffered during the fire that broke out at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one building of the large apartment complex near Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard.

Cause of the fire was under investigation.
