WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (AP) - Anderson County officials say the State Law Enforcement Division is investigating the Williamston Emergency Medical Service.
The Anderson Independent-Mail reports (https://bit.ly/1PwzPxc) that officials said SLED is looking into allegations of financial mismanagement.
County council was expected to meet with a private paramedic company to provide service in Williamston while the local EMS operation is investigated.
Williamston EMS Chief Joe Barr resigned earlier this month after holding the position for more than 10 years. Barr says he cannot talk about the allegations.
Interim EMS chief Leah Davis says administrators have asked for an audit of the agency.
