NEWARK, Ohio (AP) - A 17-year-old has been sentenced to at least six months in juvenile detention for his role in a spree of vehicle vandalism in central Ohio.
The Advocate in Newark reports (https://ohne.ws/1c38rUR ) the teen was sentenced Friday. He may serve a sentence of at least three years, but is eligible for early release after six months.
He was arrested along with a 16-year-old and 18-year-old in March after Newark police received more than 70 reports of vehicle damage caused by BB guns within a week.
The 17-year-old admitted to a felonious assault charge and 28 misdemeanor counts of criminal damaging before his sentencing.
The 16-year old has admitted to the same counts and is scheduled for sentencing this week. The 18-year-old hasn’t yet been charged in the vandalism case.
