DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A 28-year-old Air Force recruiter convicted of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at a Halloween party in southwest Ohio has been sentenced to four years and seven months in a military prison.

A Wright-Patterson Air Force Base spokeswoman says the military judge Thursday also reduced Staff Sgt. Corey Campbell to the Air Force’s lowest enlisted rank. Campbell also will forfeit all pay and benefits, and be dishonorably discharged.

Campbell’s attorney was R. Scott Croswell III. Croswell said Thursday that he believed his client was treated fairly in the military court.

Campbell also was convicted of counts of abusive sexual conduct involving a minor, serving alcohol to a minor and adultery. He pleaded not guilty in the nonjury trial.

Campbell was accused of assaulting the girl at a Springdale home.
