ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage man is recovering after being shot in the jaw during a home invasion.

KTUU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1HkbzEO ) that witnesses told police the man was shot just before midnight on Wednesday after three masked men forced their way into the Russian Jack neighborhood apartment and demanded money from the resident.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Anchorage Police Department Sgt. Todd Kearns says he similar home-invasion robberies have occurred when suspects are aware that drugs or other valuables are in a home. He did not say Thursday whether that was a factor in the Russian Jack shooting.

Police are still investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses.
