AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Police say a driver who apparently lost consciousness because of a medical condition went up on a sidewalk in Aurora, striking and killing a man in a wheelchair.
Sgt. Craig Baumfalk says the driver hit the man at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and then crashed into a power pole and a car.
The man in the wheelchair, whose name and age have not been released, died at a nearby hospital, and the driver was treated for minor injuries.
Investigators do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed played a role in the crash.
