CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. (AP) - The body of a western New York man has been found on Chautauqua Lake a week after he was reported missing when he disappeared during a fishing trip.

The Post-Journal of Jamestown reports (https://bit.ly/1SiwwZe ) that members of the Bemus Point Fire Department found 64-year-old David Spink’s body around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police had been searching for the Varysburg, Wyoming County man since May 14, a day after he launched his boat at the public boat launch at Prendergast Point, on the lake’s western shore in the town of Chautauqua.

Spink planned to pick up a friend nearby but never showed up.

Spink’s empty boat was found last Thursday night at Long Point State Park on the lake’s eastern shore.
