AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A medical examiner says a 52-year-old northeast Ohio man killed by a sheriff’s deputy was shot three times.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jonathan Colley was fatally shot Wednesday morning in the Akron suburb of Green after he advanced on deputies with a knife and couldn’t be stopped with a stun gun.
Summit County Medical Examiner Gary Guenther said Thursday that Colley was shot in the chin, chest and in the back of his right shoulder. The chin and chest wounds were fatal.
The office says deputies responded to a call at a residence about a man who was fighting with his father. Deputies say the man, who turned out to be Colley, refused commands to drop the knife.
Toxicology results are pending.
