WATERFORD, Wis. (AP) - Racine County sheriff’s officials say an 88-year-old man has died in a house fire on a Fox River island in Waterford.
Sheriff’s Lt. Dan Klatt says firefighters were dispatched to Fox Isle Park Drive about 6 a.m. Thursday.
Klatt says a frantic caller told a dispatcher that several people were unable to get out of the burning house. Klatt says responding deputies helped evacuate the house. The man who died was the homeowner and was found on the second floor.
Two people who were in the home were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
