TEWKSBURY, N.J. (AP) - Federal officials have joined the investigation into a suspicious fire at a New Jersey police station.

Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents specialize in arson and explosive investigations.

The fire at the Tewksbury Township Police Department broke out Monday. The department shares the building with other government offices.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III said in a statement the fire appears to be an intentional act that could have had “the potential to engulf the entire structure and trap occupants.”

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
