FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors have added a felony murder charge against a Fort Wayne man charged with killing a woman in a cemetery.
Twenty-year-old Quinn Albers already was charged with murder, rape and abuse of corpse for allegedly stabbing 30-year-old Katherine Gick of New Haven in October and setting her body on fire. The additional charge was filed Thursday.
Albers is scheduled to return to court on June 5 for a status hearing while the judge awaits the results of a psychiatric evaluation. His attorney, Tony Churchward, is pursuing an insanity defense.
Churchward says he has no comment of the felony murder charge being added.
Albers was arrested after he was seen running from the scene. Court documents say he had blood on his hands and a knife blade coated with red stains.
