PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A Fort Thompson man who admitted setting fire to an apartment duplex has been sentenced to 3 ½ years in federal prison.

Twenty-one-year-old Lewis Brown was accused of setting fire to an apartment adjacent to one that housed members of a family with whom he had been arguing.

The incident happened in Fort Thompson last October. Brown was indicted in December on an arson charge and pleaded guilty in March.

Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says Brown will be on supervised release for four years following his prison term and must pay nearly $46,000 in restitution for damage.
