MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - In a story May 19 about a man being sentenced in a murder-for-hire plot, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Amin Zariwala was expected to serve a year in custody before being deported to India. Zariwala’s sentence was suspended and he was to be turned over to the Department of Homeland Security for deportation.
A corrected version of the story is below:

Kennesaw man sentenced in murder-for-hire scheme to be deported to India
MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Cobb County prosecutors say an Indian national has pleaded guilty in a murder-for-hire plot and will be deported.
District Attorney’s spokeswoman Kim Isaza said in a statement Tuesday that 27-year-old Amin Zariwala of Kennesaw pleaded guilty to a count of criminal solicitation.
Investigators say in November 2014, Zariwala asked a man he knew through his cellphone store to shoot his wife with a rifle. Authorities say discussions about the plot were recorded by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Zariwala was sentenced to five years, with one to serve. A judge suspended Zariwala’s sentence and authorities said he’d be turned over to the Department of Homeland Security for deportation.
