GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Greenville man is accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her captive for days while she was beaten and assaulted.

The Greenville News (https://grnol.co/1AftHCM ) reports 32-year-old James Cyle Medlin was arrested and booked into the Greenville County Detention Center earlier this week. Police warrants say Medlin held the victim against her will for several days and brutally assaulted her in such a manner where the victim’s life was in imminent peril.

The warrants say Medlin and the victim used to live together. The victim was eventually able to escape and told authorities Medlin had threatened to hurt everyone she lived with if she didn’t do as she was told.

Police charged Medlin with kidnapping, attempted murder and criminal sexual conduct. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
