ST. LOUIS (AP) - Maryville University in St. Louis has announced plans to complete a $20 million residence hall by fall 2016.

Nina Caldwell, the university’s vice president for student life, says the planned residence is due to an expected growth in the student population. The hall - which will feature a fitness center, an all-purpose room and student lounges - should accommodate 445 students.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1HvOPac ) reports the new hall will be a four-story building in the northeast corner of campus where the school’s softball field is currently located.

The field is expected to be relocated to a proposed athletic complex.
