MACEDONIA, Ohio (AP) - A school board president in northeast Ohio is acknowledging that it was a mistake to write a letter in support of a former board president sentenced to prison for having child pornography.

Now some parents in the Nordonia Hills district are calling for the ouster of Jim Virost, who took over when his predecessor, Steve Bittel, resigned in September.

Virost was one of 27 people who filed letters of support with the court for the 53-year-old Bittel, who was sentenced in April to 14 years in prison.

Virost said at a meeting Monday that writing the letter was a mistake, according to the Northeast Ohio Media Group (https://bit.ly/1ILZBtc).

A Facebook page and online petition are calling for Virost to resign, but he says he will not.
