MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (AP) - A New York physician has been ordered to surrender his medical license amid complaints that he inappropriately touched female patients.

The Times Herald-Record (https://bit.ly/1Hwcyao ) of Middletown reports that the state Department of Health has ordered Dr. Nishant Nadpara to surrender his license effective Monday.

Officials say the 39-year-old abused three patients between 2008 and 2012. In one case, authorities say Nadpara abused a female patient on several occasions by hugging, kissing and inappropriately touching her. He’s also accused of rubbing another woman’s leg and stroking her hair. A report says he also called and texted her with no medical purpose.

Officials say Nadpara failed to maintain medical records while employed at a medical practice in Utica and at Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown.

No criminal charges were filed. He couldn’t be reached for comment.
