WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - Prosecutors say a driver who sped up and hit a police detective after being ordered to stop has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore says Leroi Bouche of Mount Vernon was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in March to attempted aggravated assault on a police officer.

The detective’s injuries included a dislocated shoulder and fractured vertebrae.

The incident last June led to a massive manhunt and school lockdowns in Mount Vernon and Pelham.

The defendant was eventually arrested in the Bronx.
