MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon State Police trooper seized more than 30 pounds of narcotics during a traffic stop in Jackson County.

The Medford Mail Tribune reports (https://is.gd/RL6xS9 ) that a K-9 trooper stopped a Mercury SUV after he saw it weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 5 near Gold Hill.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Jackson County Circuit Court, the driver appeared nervous and said he didn’t know who owned the SUV.

The driver consented to a search of the vehicle and the trooper’s drug-sniffing dog discovered 26.9 pounds of methamphetamine and 4.6 pounds of heroin hidden under a blanket.

A document filed Wednesday by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office charges the driver with unlawful manufacture, delivery and possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
