SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - The Downtown Saginaw Farmers’ Market is planning to move to a new permanent outdoor location and launch an indoor year-round market in 2016.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1JDBbBt ) volunteers this week raised the market’s large blue-and-white striped tents on a vacant lot ahead of Friday’s opening. The market has made its seasonal home on the lot, but this is the last year the tents will be used there.

Shelley McGeathy, executive director of the Downtown Saginaw Farmers’ Market, says the 2015 market season has both new and returning vendors filling out all 44 tent spaces.

The new outdoor market location is a few blocks north of the current market location. The year-round indoor market location is inside The Saginaw News’s former building.
