PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) - One of three students authorities say an Iberville Parish teacher admitted to having sex with claims he’s the father of her child.
The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1LeI8Y2 ), citing an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Keavin Keith, reports the student said the teacher fathered her child when she was 15 years old. The student also provided authorities with Facebook messages between her and Keith dating to January 2014 and says the two communicated through text message and by telephone.
Keith was arrested Monday and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail. He taught at Iberville’s Math, Science and Arts Academy-West campus and was placed on administrative leave without pay.
Sheriff Brett Stassi said previously that Keith admitted to investigators he’d had sex with the students.
