HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) - Commuters in a northern New Jersey city may have to wait a little longer to catch a PATH train into New York - one minute longer to be exact.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says passengers headed to Manhattan from Hoboken have to wait seven minutes to catch a train instead of six. Officials say the change was made to help counter overcrowded trains in Jersey City during rush hour.
The one-minute change doesn’t look like much, but Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer isn’t happy. Zimmer says the move is stunning and defies logic.
The Port Authority said in a statement to the Record newspaper that the schedule adjustment was published in advance and advertised.
