ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) - When Arlington, Washington, police went to a home in search of a 29-year-old man sought on a parole violation warrant, they didn’t find their man. They did find a 50-year-old Arlington man hiding in a closet under a pile of clothes. Turns out he, too, was sought on a parole violation warrant.

That was just the start. Detectives got search warrants Wednesday for the residence and a vehicle based on evidence they could see through the windows. During their search, they recovered stolen police equipment that included a Seattle Police Department badge, a Glock handgun and a tactical belt with a holster. They also found an assault rifle and a handgun. In the vehicle, police found a stolen police-issued bulletproof vest, ammunition, drug scales and drug packaging material.

They say additional charges are planned against the man found in the closet.

Arlington is north of Seattle.
