WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A woman was grazed in the head by a bullet and several children had to seek cover after gunfire erupted outside a day care center in Wilmington.

Police say the 24-year-old woman was outside the West Center City Early Learning Center when shots were fired Wednesday afternoon. No one else was injured.

Wilmington Police said the victim was flown to Christiana Hospital, treated and listed in stable condition.

Bullets struck at least two cars across the street from the Center. Witnesses reported hearing at least 10 shots. Children inside were placed on the ground for their safety when the shots were fired.

Police haven’t released the victim’s name or any information about possible suspects.
