CENTER POINT, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an Birmingham-area man has been charged with attempted murder after he fired a gun into his ex-girlfriend’s car while three children were inside.
Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1ekEGRo ) a 3-year-old boy was cut by flying glass shattered by a bullet early Friday, but no one else was injured.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrested 25-year-old Rafael Powell on 12 felony charges including attempted murder. He was jailed on $540,000 bond. It was not immediately known if Powell had an attorney.
Authorities say the injured child’s mother told deputies that she was sitting in her car with three children and two other adults when Powell, her ex-boyfriend, began firing a handgun into the car. She said Powell ran when a man inside her car drew a gun and returned fire.
