CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A group of Nevada Republicans have revived a hot-button measure that would allow concealed gun permit holders to bring firearms onto college campuses.

Seven Assembly Republicans introduced AB487 on Friday, which is the latest in a string of attempts to pass so-called “campus carry” measures this session.

The bill would allow concealed weapon permit holders to carry concealed guns on college campuses and store firearms in locked cars.

The measure was introduced one day after a handful of Republicans joined Democrats to defeat an amendment adding “campus carry” to another bill. Most of the bill’s sponsors are the same Republicans who helped defeat the amendment yesterday.

A separate Assembly measure enacting “campus carry” died without a hearing in the Senate earlier in May.
