Authorities say toddler’s body found in pond near home

ST. STEPHEN, S.C. (AP) - The coroner in Berkeley County says a 22-month-old boy has died after wandering away from his home.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury told local media outlets that Caden Burden was found in a pond near his home. Salisbury said the boy was rushed to a hospital, where he died.

The death is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and St. Stephen Police Department.

Salisbury said an autopsy will be conducted.
