GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in coastal Alabama say a man wanted after fleeing police in Marshall, Missouri has been taken into custody.

Gulf Shores Police Cpl. Josh Coleman tells Al.com 31-year-old Carl Clayton Roettgen and his 38-year-old girlfriend Amber Lynn Friend were found at Gulf State Park Wednesday and are awaiting extradition to Missouri.

U.S. Marshalls have said Roettgen nearly ran over police officers while he resisted arrest outside a Wal-Mart on May 13. He was wanted on a parole violation.



Coleman says Roettgen and Friend were taken to the Baldwin County Corrections Center. It’s unclear if they have attorneys.
