ACCOKEEK, Md. (AP) - A vacant, massive home was destroyed in a fire in Prince George’s County in Maryland.
Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue spokesman Mark Brady said firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions upon arriving on the scene Thursday night in Accokeek. The side of the large, three-story, 3,600 square foot home also partially collapsed in the fire.
Firefighters battled heavy fire throughout the structure of the home before they were able to knock down the bulk of the fire. The fire burned so hot that the neighbor’s house reportedly melted a little.
The cause of the fire is still unclear, but officials said they believe the fire was gas fed. There were no reported injuries.
