FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A former Kentucky lawmaker has been appointed to the Public Pension Oversight Board.

House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced Thursday he has appointed former state Rep. Bob Damron to the board, which now covers all public pension systems based in Kentucky.

Damron, a conservative Democrat from Nicholasville, didn’t seek re-election last year.

Damron replaces another former lawmaker, Michael Bowling, on the board.
