HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Fire Department says a May 1 house fire that killed three people was caused by an unattended cooking stove.

Investigators on Friday announced the cause of this month’s accidental blaze that left two adults and a child dead.

Houston firefighters managed to pull two victims from the burning residence. Both people were transported to a Houston hospital, where they later died.

Officials say a third person was dead at the scene.
