RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police in Raleigh have arrested a man who they say shot and killed his wife at an apartment complex.

A statement from police said 42-year-old Michael Rashun Sutton was taken into custody in Clayton by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department

Sutton was returned to Wake County and is currently in the county jail. He faces multiple charges, including murder.

Sutton is charged in the shooting death of 39-year-old Tonya Lashawn Sutton, just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday. According to police, Michael Sutton fled in his car.

Tonya Sutton’s body was found on a sidewalk at the apartment complex.

Michael Sutton is being held without bond, and online jail records don’t say whether he has an attorney.
