NEW YORK (AP) - A serial stabber already serving time for one murder has pleaded guilty to another.

The Bronx district attorney’s office says Lucius Crawford admitted in court Thursday that he killed Nella West, a prostitute, in 1993.

The office said that under a plea agreement, the 62-year-old will be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. That’s the same sentence that was imposed when Crawford was convicted last year in Westchester in the 2012 knifing death of his girlfriend.

The sentences are to be served concurrently. His attorney said if Crawford had been convicted at trial the sentences could have been combined to 50 years to life.

Before being charged in the killings, Crawford spent about 30 years in prison for non-fatal stabbings of women in New York and South Carolina.
