BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) - A 23-year-old man convicted of shooting his ex-girlfriend to death at a suburban Denver hotel has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The Adams County District Attorney’s Office says Seth Wilkinson was sentenced Friday for the Dec. 14, 2012, death of 20-year-old Antida Archuleta. He was convicted in April of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Wilkinson went to Archuleta’s workplace at the Savannah Suites Hotel in Westminster and shot her three times in the head and once in the arm. He then shot himself in the chin.

Wilkinson had gone to Archuleta’s grandparents’ home earlier in the day and confronted her about her new boyfriend, threatening to kill himself. The day after the shooting, police found a suicide note in Wilkinson’s bedroom.
