EDEN, N.C. (AP) - Mohawk Industries is expanding its operations in Rockingham County, adding more than 100 jobs.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s office announced Thursday that the carpet maker will spend about $8 million to expand its plant in Eden and add 105 jobs over the next five years.

The new jobs include machine operators, maintenance, support workers and management. Average salaries will range from $35,000 to $40,000.



Mohawk currently employs more than 170 people in Eden. The company makes carpets and rugs at the plant.

Mohawk employs about 1,200 people in North Carolina.
