STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - An estimated $9.3 million is provided in an appropriations bill for a new Army Reserve Center in Starkville.
U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., says in a new release that the funding is provided in the FY2016 Military Construction and Veterans Affair Appropriations Bill approved this week by the appropriations committee. Cochran is chairman of the appropriations committee.
Cochran says the funding will be used to replace the aging Guy II and Will Jones U. S. Army Reserve Center.
He says bill provides money to equip and house military personnel and increases funding for veterans’ benefits and programs.
The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
