CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - A new trial is set for six people charged in connection with the slaying of a Waynesboro reserve police officer.
Media outlets report that U.S. District Judge Glen Conrad scheduled the trial for Feb. 1, 2016, on Thursday. But the trial might not be held Charlottesville because the area’s jury pool has been exhausted.
Conrad declared a mistrial for all six defendants earlier this month after authorities discovered that one had obtained a list of the jury pool.
Four defendants are charged with kidnapping, murder, racketeering and robbery. Two defendants are charged with racketeering and obstruction of justice.
The charges stem from the slaying of 45-year-old Kevin Quick. Quick was reported missing on Feb. 1, 2014. His body was found days later in woods northwest of Richmond.
