Pedestrian fatally struck as vehicle backs up in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a pedestrian has died after she was struck by a vehicle that was backing up at a Brooklyn intersection.

The NYPD says 76-year-old Galina Shibayeva was pronounced dead at the scene of the Bensonhurst crash on Thursday.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman, remained on the scene.
