SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - Police say a motorcyclist who died while fleeing state troopers in Saginaw was facing charges from another pursuit by the same officers in April.

The Saginaw News (https://bit.ly/1Q0SVqc ) says 39-year-old Glen Shepard crashed Monday night after troopers tried to pull him over for speeding and improper passing. Police say Shepard’s motorcycle left the road and hit a fence and building.

State police Lt. David Kaiser says Shepard fled police in an SUV in April, driving through backyards and hitting fences. He was scheduled for a June 5 preliminary hearing on charges that included malicious destruction of property.

Shepard worked as a tattoo artist. Girlfriend LaTerrika Swearengen says he got the motorcycle three days before the crash.

Swearengen says she has questions about what happened in the police pursuit.
