RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police are looking for a man they say shot his wife to death at a Raleigh apartment complex.
Multiple news outlets report 39-year-old Tonya Lashawn Sutton was killed Thursday morning at Wesvill Court in west Raleigh. Police have issued an arrest warrant for her husband, 42-year-old Michael Rashun Sutton, but he wasn’t in custody as of Thursday evening. Police said he fled the shooting scene in a light blue, two-door 2005 Toyota Solara.
A man who called 911 told police Tonya Sutton was with him in his apartment when Michael Sutton began firing through the front door, then entered the apartment and fired several more shots. He says he then saw her lying dead outside the apartment.
Police are still searching for Sutton.
