SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A former Republican candidate for governor among four people Gov. Bruce Rauner has named to the Illinois State Tollway Authority
The Republican governor announced Friday that Bob Schillerstrom will serve on the board overseeing the state’s tollway system.
Rauner also has picked Joseph Gomez, Craig Johnson and Nick Sauer to serve on the board.
Johnson is the mayor of Elk Grove Village. Sauer and Gomez both are members of the Lake County board.
Schillerstrom ran for the Republican nomination in 2009 and 2010 before withdrawing and endorsing Jim Ryan. He has served in the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office and three terms on the DuPage County Board.
Illinois State Tollway Authority members are paid $31,426 a year and serve 4-year terms.
