YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A storm packing heavy rain, hail and lightning has hit the Yakima Valley in central Washington.

The Yakima Herald-Republic (https://is.gd/jhXEFq ) says some flooding was reported Thursday night in the streets of downtown Selah, near Yakima. Scattered power failures were also reported.

National Weather Service forecaster Jim Smith says about an inch of rain fell in Yakima in just a half hour, leading the Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning for central Yakima County.
