ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri woman is charged with robbery after police say she used a stun gun to zap a security guard who tried to detain her as a suspected shoplifter.
KMOV-TV (https://bit.ly/1dlW9Zz) reports that authorities say surveillance cameras showed 22-year-old Haley Wilson of Winfield shoplifting at a department store May 11 at Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters.
Investigators say that when a security guard tried to stop Wilson, she shocked him with a stun gun and later was arrested at her O’Fallon workplace.
The guard did not seek medical attention.
Online court records don’t show whether Wilson has an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
